Mission

Our mission is to change US policy which provides one-sided material and political support for Israel, and shields Israel from any accountability for its actions; we stand in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom.

Discussion

We are opposed especially to the horrific genocide, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid being perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinians in Gaza. We recognize that the oppression and murder of Palestinians is crucially enabled by US material and political support for Israel.

As Americans, it is our task to change this destructive US policy by opposing our government’s military, financial, political and diplomatic underwriting of Israel’s ongoing violations of international humanitarian law in Palestine. We demand that our country support the worldwide campaign to hold Israel accountable at the UN, The International Court of Justice and The International Criminal Court – and ultimately to join in imposing real sanctions against Israel of the type that helped to overthrow the Apartheid regime in South Africa.

It is not our job to spell out a detailed political outcome that will guarantee justice, equality and freedom to all of those, Jews and Palestinians alike, who Iive in historic Palestine. Rather, our focus is on stopping our government from standing in the way.

We also understand that Israel and its US lobby have not only pressed for more US wars and military interventions in the Middle East – including in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and Iran – but that they have acted to undermine democracy in our own country. We oppose any restrictions on free speech concerning Israel/Palestine and the targeting of politicians, organizations, academics, students, businesses, or individuals who dissent from one-sided pro-Israel policies.  We support and defend protests in the streets and campuses — and we join BDS campaigns to put pressure on Israel.  Our focus is mainly on grassroots organizing and public education to alter the decision-making calculus in the US government that supports the Israeli crimes, especially in Congress.

Without this crucial US support, it is inconceivable that Israel could maintain its longstanding system of war and occupation in Palestine and the wider Middle East.  We demand an end to US complicity in Israel’s crimes, including genocide – complicity which is itself a crime under international law.

We oppose US hegemonic policy in Western Asia which seeks to dictate the future of Iran, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and more, to the benefit of elite US interests.  We call on the US to respect the sovereign rights of all countries, respect their interests and dignity, negotiate with them without threats of coercion, and withdraw US military forces from the region.

Get Involved

Our Palestine-Israel campaign group meets every other Wednesday at 5:30pm on zoom. We gather to discuss updates on the unfolding genocide in Gaza and related conflict across the Middle East, which are posted as the Genocide in Gaza: Jeff Klein Reports series on Youtube.    We organize to achieve a permanent ceasefire, an end to US military aid to Israel, an end to the Israeli occupation, and equal human and political rights for Israelis and Palestinians. We offer a series of Webinars with esteemed guest speakers, many of whom are based in Palestine or are experts on the topic.
