MAPA’s Peace Voter program evaluates candidates through a peace and justice lens, endorses candidates who align with MAPA’s priorities, and helps voters understand where candidates stand on war, diplomacy, militarism, and public investment.

Endorsement Process
How MAPA evaluates candidates
MAPA reviews candidate positions, questionnaires, voting records, public statements, campaign viability, and the organization’s ability to make a meaningful impact in a race.
MAPA considers where candidates stand on war, militarism, diplomacy, public spending, human needs, and related legislative priorities.
Questionnaire responses are considered alongside voting records, public statements, campaign commitments, and previous actions.
MAPA considers the competitiveness of the race, the strength of the campaign, and whether an endorsement can make a meaningful difference.
Recommendations are reviewed through MAPA’s political process and require approval by the Board before an endorsement is announced.
Member Role
Members help inform endorsement decisions.
Members and supporters bring local knowledge to MAPA’s electoral work. For some federal races, people in the district may also be invited to participate in an advisory poll.
