Elect Tom Melville to State Representative!

Massachusetts Peace Action endorses Tom Melville for State Representative in the 9th Norfolk District, representing Wrentham, Norfolk, Plainville, Medfield, Walpole, and Millis.

Tom is a former journalist and returned United States Peace Corps volunteer who is running to make Massachusetts more affordable for working families and to bring a strong commitment to community, transparency, and human dignity to the State House.

In his community, Tom has spoken out against anti-immigrant rhetoric following the opening of a shelter in the district. Rather than allowing fear and division to define the response, he worked to bring neighbors together in support of immigrant families. Tom founded a local chapter of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society to provide assistance to people in need and has called for an end to the state’s 287(g) agreement with ICE, emphasizing the importance of making all members of our communities feel safe.

Tom also brings the perspective of a former journalist to his campaign and is an unapologetic supporter of a free press and greater transparency in the Massachusetts State House. His commitment to accountable government and his opposition to endless wars reflect values that are central to Massachusetts Peace Action’s work.

At a time when immigrant communities are increasingly being targeted and our politics too often rely on fear and division, Tom offers a different approach—one centered on bringing neighbors together, protecting vulnerable communities, and making government work for ordinary people.

Massachusetts Peace Action is proud to endorse Tom Melville for State Representative in the 9th Norfolk District.
