Cuban in the Valley Presents: Death of a Bureaucrat
Join Cuba in the Valley for its monthly film series at a new location and time! This month’s screening features Death of a Bureaucrat, a classic Cuban comedy and sharp satire of the absurdities of bureaucracy.
The film follows the family of a worker who makes busts of Lenin and dies in an unusual workplace accident. When he is mistakenly buried with his union card, his widow discovers she needs the card in order to collect her pension. What follows is a chaotic and hilarious struggle through layers of bureaucracy as the family tries to retrieve it.
Come enjoy an evening of Cuban cinema, community, and plenty of laughs at Luthier’s Co-Op in downtown Easthampton. A full bar and snacks will be available.
