Ukraine War: Is a “Vietnam Moment’ Approaching?
History Professor David Gibbs of the University of Arizona will discuss his analysis of the Ukraine War after four and a half years. He believes that unlike the dominant narrative of the U.S. and Ukrainian governments and national media, Russia is steadily winning the war, and that Ukraine might soon face a sudden collapse of its army and the loss of much more of its territory than just the Donbas region. He’ll also discuss the historic and current extreme Russophobia of the U.S. and Europe toward Russia, and how the threat of Russian military aggression has always been greatly exaggerated.
University of Arizona Professor of History David N. Gibbs has published extensively on political conflicts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, former Yugoslavia, and Afghanistan, as well as US economic history.
