Still, Minab: Film Screening

On February 28, 2026, during the initial hours of the US-Israeli war on Iran, the U.S. carried out a triple-tap strike on the Shajareye Tayebe School in Minab, Iran. The targeted strikes claimed the lives of one hundred and sixty eight civilians, most of them elementary-school-aged children. Within minutes of the strikes on the school, the U.S. struck the nearest medical center and emergency facility. Three months on, there has been zero transparency or accountability from the U.S. military. In the immediate aftermath of the strikes, in what is by now an all too familiar pattern, the U.S. administration and Western media sought to disseminate disinformation and create confusion to obscure U.S. cuplability.
The docuseries “Still, Minab” counters these narratives by centering the voices of families impacted by this act of imperial violence, offering English-speaking audiences a rare firsthand account of the tragedy. We invite you to join us for a screening, introduced by the series’ creator and narrator, Dr. Helyeh Doutaghi.

Dr. Helyeh Doutaghi is a scholar of international law and geopolitical economy. Her research explores the intersections of Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL), encompassing Marxian and postcolonial critiques of law, sanctions, and international political economy, as well as International Humanitarian Law (IHL), particularly in the context of the US military. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Tehran.
