58 Massachusetts Organizations Call for Investigation of Israel’s Human Rights Practices

58 Massachusetts organizations called for a State Department investigation of Israel’s human rights practices in connection with U.S. shipments of military aid to Israel.  They sent a letter to Senators Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren asking them to support Bernie Sanders’ S.Res.504, a privileged resolution which could be voted on in the Senate as early as January 16.

“After months of devastation in Gaza, there is urgent need for a meaningful debate on U.S. support for Israeli operations in Gaza and the West Bank, including the extent to which U.S. military aid may be supporting violations of international human rights and humanitarian law,” the organizations wrote.

A separate letter making similar points and signed by 70 national organizations was released January 11.
