New Book Brings the Complexities of the Russia-Ukraine War to Massachusetts

Medea-Ukraine-book

Medea Benjamin discusses her newly released book, War in Ukraine: Making Sense of a Senseless War, at college campuses and community centers across Massachusetts.

As we near the eighth month of the deadly, illegal war on Ukraine, the calls for peace and negotiations have never been more pressing. Suffering from recent defeats from Ukrainian defense forces, President Putin is now starting to talk about the use of nuclear weapons, while Congress today is passing $13 billion in addional arms shipments. We could possibly be on the brink of a nuclear war.

Now more than ever it is important to know how we got this place. In the new book, War In Ukraine: Making Sense of a Senselss War, Medea Benjamin and Nicolas J.S. Davies piece together the complex history of Russia, Ukraine, and the role foriegn leaders and statesmen played in the escalation prior to Russia’s decision to illegaly invade Ukraine.

“This careful, informed, judicious study is an invaluable guide to understanding Russia’s criminal invasion of Ukraine, and most crucially, how we can act to help bring this terrible tragedy to an end.” Noam Chomsky
