The stand-out was organized by the Latin America Solidarity Coalition of WMass, and Massachusetts Peace Action, and endorsed by Code Pink WMass, the Greater Hartford Cuba Solidarity Committee, Anti-Imperialist Action Committee of Western Massachusetts, Jewish Activists for Immigration Justice of Western Massachusetts, Green Rainbow Party Pioneer Valley Local.  In a public statement about the stand-out the organizers said:

The blockade is causing great harm and suffering to all Cubans, especially mothers, for decades. This policy is immoral.  We can no longer accept the perverted logic that to defend the human rights of people in another country it is okay for our government to impose severe sanctions/blockades that cause the death of tens of thousands of people.

We call on our government to End the Blockade of Cuba

Sanctions/Blockades are Tools of WAR!

Now is the time for SOLIDARITY and COLABORATION!

Now is the time for PEACE!
