More Teaching Less Testing – Virtual National Conference

Sat April 13 @ 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDT

More Teaching Less Testing

Virtual National Conference, Sat., April 13, 2:00 – 5:30 pm, 2024

Throughout our nation’s history, access to a quality education, as well as the content of that education, has been a political battleground. The struggle to protect and expand quality public education is again intensifying, with right wing Legislators and local allies attempting to limit access to equal rights curricula and book collections. U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s Congressional “More Teaching Less Testing” Act, as well as the collection of more than 100,000 signatures for a Massachusetts anti-MCAS ballot initiative, opens new fronts for promoting quality public education. This Conference explores the growing resistance to the use of high stakes testing to control school curriculum and student learning, as well as the need for increased state and federal financial investments – “Books not Bombs”– to ensure quality education for all.
