Why are we making calls today?

Congress is advancing a budget proposal that would gut Medicaid and SNAP benefits for no other reason than to fund more tax breaks for billionaires. Instead of addressing the real culprits—the ultra-rich and corporations who are driving up costs and prioritizing profits over people—these cuts target working families and communities already struggling to get by. Any cuts to Medicaid and food nutrition benefits put millions of people at risk and will result in people losing access to healthcare and food.

Who are we talking to?

We are calling constituents who are most impacted and most likely to oppose these cuts and may be willing to contact their Senator, especially those whose Senators have not committed to fully protecting Medicaid and SNAP.

What are we talking about?

We are making sure constituents understand that their Senator has not committed to fully protecting Medicaid or SNAP benefits. We will offer to patch them through to their representative’s office to deliver a brief but urgent message: Any cuts to Medicaid or food nutrition benefits put millions of people at risk and will result in people losing their healthcare and reliable access to food.
