Join MAPA for a festive concert featuring activist performer Ben Grosscup who will be singing a mix of his original pieces and classics. He will share the stage with MAPA intern Nina Giulianini who will cover various peace-inspiring songs. As we close out 2023, let us mourn the violence of the past year but rally together with spirit and hope for a more peaceful 2024. Don’t miss our gathering of music and inspiration with light refreshments. You will laugh, you will cry, but you will leave renewed for the holidays.
The Friends Center is located at 5 Longfellow Park, Cambridge, MA 02138. The red line can be taken to Harvard Square and the venue is a 10 minute walk from the stop. Parking on Longfellow Park is available but extremely limited at and around the venue (around Cambridge Common may be your best bet).
Ben Grosscup sings about the ideas and values of the revolutionary social movements he’s part of. Drawing upon activist folk singing traditions, he brings new songs to the rallies, strikes, picket lines, and virtual events where they’re most relevant. He leads purposeful group singing that raises political consciousness.

Ben is executive director of The People’s Music Network for Songs of Freedom and Struggle, a diverse community of singers, artists, and activists that cultivates music and cultural work as catalysts for a just and peaceful world. PMN hosts regular online and in-person musical collaborations, involving artists world-wide.

Ben will be joined by Massachusetts Peace Action intern, Nina Giulianini who shares Ben’s love of folk music and will be performing a short set of covers. Nina graduated from Boston College this past spring, 2023. Although as of recently she’s been playing acoustic, in college Nina played electric guitar with an all-girl punk rock band on campus and various Boston bars.
