First Encounter Flashback

Join the Friends Meeting at Cambridge at 1:00pm on Sunday, June 1 for a performance of “First Encounter Flashback” (Meetinghouse).“Come travel through time with actor, activist, dancer, and Tribal mentor Annawon Weeden to understand some of the Native history of Southern New England. Drawing on his Mashpee Wampanoag, Narragansett, and Pequot lineage, Weeden will explore the Tribal history of The People of the Dawn from before European contact until today.” Experience Massachuset history come alive! Free. RSVP appreciated but not necessary.
2:00-3:30pm – Indigenous Games/Crafts. This intergenerational event will take place on FMC’s front lawn (if weather permits). We plan to have lemonade, provide supplies and instructions about how to make corn husk action figures, and play a game dubbed “Hub-bub” for ages 5 and up. (All children must have a parent/guardian present.)
