Concord 250 Outreach

Hosted by the Concord250 Planning Committee of the Arise & Resist Coalition
We are planning an anti-authoritarian outreach event at Concord250 on Saturday, April 19, a commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. Thousands—potentially hundreds of thousands—will gather for a parade, drone show, and other local happenings throughout the day. Invitations have been extended to notable figures such as Donald Trump and King Charles III.
This will be a great opportunity to make a stand in front of a mass audience and appeal to attendees who are interested in joining local organizations for change. Our plan is to distribute handouts that feature shocking statistics and a list of local organizations working to resist or combat the issues at hand.
Our core message is resisting the rise of authoritarianism in the United States led by extremist right-wing billionaires. We want to draw folks’ attention with anti-authoritarian sentiments that are widely agreed upon, and then encourage participation in local groups/organizations that are fighting back and assisting communities in need.
We will meet at the Concord rail station at 1:30 for orientation. Volunteers will then fan out in the area to distribute brochures and talk to attendees. Meet back at the rail station at 4:00 to debrief. Be sure to sign up to get full information, do not just show up in Concord without contacting organizers ahead of time. Do not drive to Concord without a parking plan.
