Commemorative Walk & Meditation for Hiroshima/Nagasaki Anniversary

Observe the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings at Hiroshima and Nagasaki with a silent and commemorative walk and meditation by the water. The walk will begin at 9:30 am at the Temple and end at the beach at Cook’s Pond. A meditation will begin afterwards on the beach, and both the walk and meditation will be held in silence. This is a gesture in remembrance of all who suffered and died in the bombings, and as a contemplative act of bearing witness to the continuing danger of nuclear weapons in our world today.
For those who are unable to walk, there will be coordinated ride-sharing from the Temple to the pond so that all may participate.
