Make PEACE the PRIMARY Priority!
"Super" Tuesday, February 5, 2008 is Massachusetts' Presidential Primary.
Where do the candidates stand on Iraq, Iran, & other key issues? Check out our Peace Voter Guides (.pdf) to find out: Democrats - Green Rainbow - Republicans
For more detail, check out this informative chart (.pdf).
The
outcomes of the 2008 elections could have a profound impact on U.S.
foreign policy, domestic priorities, and prospects for peace and
justice in the world. We must demand that ALL candidates be accountable to the growing peace majority,
as we call for leadership to:
- quckly and completely end the war in Iraq,
- work for peaceful
relations with Iran,
- stop the dangerous spread of nuclear weapons,
- advance human rights and international law,
- and allocate needed
resources for human and environmental security instead of endless
militarism.
In Massachusetts, the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, and the Green Rainbow Party will all have presidential contenders on the ballot. (You can vote in the primary for the party in which you are registered or in any of these three parties if you are unenrolled.) We urge you to use our Peace Voter guides to make an informed vote on February 5th (and to pass out copies in your community!), but we also recognize that casting our ballots is only one step toward pushing for a President who will make peace a priority. None of the major Presidential candidates will end the warquickly without strong anti-war pressure from all of us! Contact your candidate of choice and demand that their platform includes a real plan to end the war, promote peace with Iran, and advance a foreign policy built on justice, human rights, and cooperation. Learn more about the candidates, their contact information, and their recent statements on the issues at www.Voter4Peace.org, a project of Peace Action West.
