SUMMARY:Will the Real Terrorist Please Stand Up
DESCRIPTION:Boats of armed Cuban Americans trying to land in Cuba like a little Bay of Piglets.  Trump cutting off all oil and threatening military action “I can do anything I want with the Island”.  Threatening countries in the Caribbean with who knows what if they use Cuba’s medical services.  And calling Cuba a terrorist and hostile country. Who’s the terrorist?\n\nThe inimitable Saul Landau with his partner Danny Glover\, take on the question in this 1 hour film:  Will the Real Terrorist Stand Up.  Then we will have a discussion — including a report back on the Nuestra America Convoy that just went to Cuba from 36 countries with some 500 people\, including 150 people from the US\, and several tons of medical aid delivered to hospitals and clinics.  Hope you can come.  And please take this action to tell Congress to pass this resolution forbidding Trump to take military action without consulting Congress.

SUMMARY:Antiwar Open House
DESCRIPTION:Almost 1\,000 people signed petitions\, carried signs\, and reached out at NO KINGS III last Saturday\, March 28\, to express resistance to Trump’s wars on Iran and various other countries. The signed petitions will be sent to our elected officials in Congress to let them know we expect them to stand up to the KING and cut off all funding for his disastrous wars. Opposition to these wars carried out by a cruel King  is building and media coverage of the massive NO KINGS demonstrations around the country make it clear that rage among young people against the U.S.-Israeli illegal war of aggression against Iran was a top reason for many young people joining. \nWe are Massachusetts Peace Action (MAPA). Every day we work to stop this KING’s wars and end his cruelty toward our immigrant neighbors as we try to build a country on the bedrock of community. Do you think you would like to get more involved in preventing Trump from sending ICE into our cities and ground troops into Iran? Or stopping his $200 billion request for additional funding for his war against Iran war\, funding that is  taken from our own communities? Or creating a solid wall of opposition to his collaboration with the continuing genocide in Gaza? Or ending his illegal oil blockade of Cuba that is wreaking such suffering on its people? Or standing against his continuing extra-judicial murders of civilians in boats in the Caribbean\, his abduction of Venezuela’s President\, and his insistence that he will run Venezuela and take its oil? \nThe meeting will be held in the Lounge of St. James Episcopal Church\, three blocks north of Porter Square in Cambridge. The location can be confusing. If you have not been to the venue before\, please review these directions and arrive a few minutes early to make sure you find us!  (The directions page are for the Parish Hall which is right across the hall from the Lounge.) \n

SUMMARY:Emergency Protests: Stop the US-Israeli War on Iran
DESCRIPTION:Rally to demand a complete end to the US-Israel Wars on Iran and Lebanon \nWednesday\, April 8 \nBoston\, 6pm – Park Street Station \nLowell\, 6pm – City Hall \nWorcester\, 6pm – City Hall \nHolyoke\, 6:30 pm – Veterans Memorial Park \nEasthampton\, 5pm – Nashwannuck Pond \nOn Tuesday morning\, President Trump threatened to commit mass war crimes in Iran: “A whole civilization will die tonight\, never to be brought back again\,” if the Iranian government did not meet his demands by 8 PM. \n90 minutes before the deadline\, the President announced that an agreement had been reached for a two-week ceasefire. The exact details of the deal are unclear. What is clear is that the President of the United States is conducting foreign policy by threatening genocide. \nIn the last 5 weeks\, the governments of Israel and the United States have killed over 1\,600 civilians\, including 244 children\, in Iran. Simultaneously\, Israel has killed over 1500 Lebanese people\, including 130 children\, with US weapons\, and ethnically cleansed South Lebanon. They have deceptively used the cover of diplomacy to assassinate Iranian negotiators and leaders. They have endangered the entire region and wasted billions of dollars. They have created an unnecessary shock on the world economy that is threatening the wellbeing of billions. \nA ceasefire agreement is welcome\, but it is not enough. President Trump has revealed that he is dangerously unfit for office. Tomorrow\, we will join with activists across the world to call for an immediate and complete end to the illegal wars on Iran and Lebanon. \nBoston rally sponsored by MAPA\, About Face\, Alliance for Water Justice in Palestine\, Answer Coalition\, Boston Democratic Socialists of America\, CD8 for Palestine\, If Not Now\, Jewish Voice for Peace Boston\, Mass. 50501\, Military Families Speak Out\, National Iranian American Council\, Palestinian Youth Movement\, SEIU Local 509\, Standing Up for Racial Justice\, Party for Socialism and Liberation\, Veterans for Peace.

SUMMARY:Cuba Under Siege: What Happens Next?
DESCRIPTION:Rafael Hernández\, leading scholar of both Cuban politics and Cuba-US relations takes on the question of the outlook and options for Cuba in the face of the US all out siege and oil blockade.  How long can Cuba hold out?  What is the nature of the crisis internally?  What are the plans and prospects for the Cuban government in the face of this dire situation? \nHernández is a Cuban writer\, scholar and political analyst. He is the editor of Revista Temas\, the leading Cuban magazine in the social sciences and the humanities\, temas.cult.cu\, with its blog Catelejo\, a space for other well known Cuban intellectuals\, with articles such as the recent\, Is Cuba Collapsing\, by Marta Nuñez. He leads a monthly gathering\, Ultimo Jueves\, which brings together intellectuals\, academics and ordinary Cubans to discuss and debate the pressing issues of the day.  His publications include several books and essays on Cuban and U.S. policies\, inter-American relations\, international security\, migration\, Cuban culture\, civil society and politics\, including Looking at Cuba: Essays on Culture and Civil Society (2001)\, The Other War: Studies on Strategy and International Security (2000)\, The History of Havana (2006) and Shall We Play Ball? SUMMARY:Justice 4 All Thursdays
DESCRIPTION:Via Turn Purple 2 Blue:\n\nGreater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \nSchedule (Starting Thursday\, September 4 – more dates to follow) \n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements\n11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave\n12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \nWhat happens at this ICE office? \nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \nSigns \nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \nParking and other tips \nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Before arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.)

SUMMARY:From Ground Zero
DESCRIPTION:We present From Ground Zero\, a powerful collection of short films by 22 Palestinian filmmakers living through war and genocide in Gaza. \nThe stories in Palestine’s Official Submission for the 2025 Academy Awards\, From Ground Zero\, capture the unyielding steadfastness of the human spirit and enduring creativity that thrives even in the face of relentless devastation through a unique blend of animation\, documentary\, and fiction. \nFrom Ground Zero was created by filmmaker Rashid Masharawi and designed to give a voice to the people of Gaza and to document their day-to-day experiences\, many of which often go unheard by the outside world. In a war-torn society\, where artistic creation is extremely complex\, the project sought to capture the diversity of perspectives of Gazans through slice-of-life short films\, ranging anywhere from three to six minutes in length. Filmmakers were allowed to tell their story through any genre and cinematic storytelling platform\, from fiction to documentary to animation. \nAfter the film we will hear from Zohaib Qureshi\, a doctor in physical therapy. Dr. Qureshi works  in Neuro-Oncology Amputee Rehab in Dallas\, Texas.  He volunteered in Gaza  and came back in March 2026. \nThe film will be shown in the Parish Hall of St. James Episcopal Church\, three blocks north of Porter Square in Cambridge.  The location can be confusing.  If you have not been to the venue before\, please review these directions and arrive a few minutes early to make sure you find us!

SUMMARY:No to Nuclear
DESCRIPTION:…Why Nuclear Power Destroys Lives\, Derails Climate Progress and Provokes War \n \nJoin us for a discussion of Linda Pentz Gunter’s newly published book  No To Nuclear: Why Nuclear Power Destroys Lives\, Derails Climate Progress and Provokes War in a webinar moderated by Chris Nord of the C-10 Research and Education Foundation.  \nThe nuclear power industry wants us to believe that theirs is the only technical fix for our deliverance from the climate crisis. While the public\, politicians and the media have been easily swayed\, Gunter blasts aside the industry’s claims that it is safe and green. In No to Nuclear\, she compellingly argues that nuclear power is too slow\, too expensive\, too dangerous and too integrally connected to the nuclear weapons complex to serve as a rational energy choice.  She reveals how the nuclear sector not only fundamentally harms the lives of Indigenous peoples and communities of color but also devalues nature and the environment. In short\, the nuclear power industry is costing us the chance of a genuinely just energy transition. \nLinda Pentz Gunter is the founder and executive director of the US-based non-profit Beyond Nuclear. The organization works to educate the public\, media and decision-makers about the necessity to abolish nuclear power and nuclear weapons and the inextricable link between the two. Previously\, she was a journalist at USA Network\, Reuters\, and The Times. She launched\, and writes for Beyond Nuclear’s online magazine\, Beyond Nuclear International. \nChris Nord is the co-founder and Board member of the C-10 Research and Education Foundation – whose mission includes real-time radiological monitoring near the Seabrook atomic reactor\, as well as education the public about safe and sustainable energy a alternatives.  He is Vice-President of the Citizens Awareness Network and founding member and non-violence trainer of the Clamshell Alliance.  He is the creator of the presentation “Nuclear Spent Fuel and Homeland Security: The Case for Hardened Storage.” and also co-producer of “Circles Around the Fire”\, a 30-minute slide/video program on nuclear power in New England. \nRegister to attend: \n \nSponsored by MAPA Nuclear Disarmament Working Group\, New Hampshire Peace Action\, Peace Action Maine\, and New Jersey Peace Action. Cosponsored by Commonwealth Coalition for Democracy & Safe Energy\, Clamshell Aliance\, and MAPA Indigenous Solidarity. \nTo purchase a copy of Linda’s book\, click the linked title here: No To Nuclear: Why Nuclear Power Destroys Lives\, Derails Climate Progress And Provokes War  \nTo pay in US dollars\, click the tab at the top (that defaults to UK pounds) and choose North America (US$) and fill out the form (choosing United States as your country).  Receive 40% off the cover price through April 14\, 2026.

SUMMARY:Boston Community Hearing On Renaming Faneuil Hall
DESCRIPTION:Addressing what our public monuments and public buildings means to us in important. Symbols matter. Faneuil Hall\, in Boston’s government center\, is historic in many positive ways. It predates the founding of the nation and is widely recognized as the “cradle of liberty.” Yet\, Faneuil Hall is named after a person who committed himself to the idea of white supremacy. Should Faneuil Hall\, which is named after the slave owner and slave trader Peter Faneuil\, retain its name? We say no. Our work on changing the name of Faneuil Hall is grounded in our corporate quest for racial repair. Our annual hunger fasting at Faneuil Hall is designed to educate the public that Peter Faneuil\, as one of the city’s original founding fathers \, was a profound racist who contributed nothing to the idea of democracy. Changing the name of Faneuil Hall stands as a pathway of addressing the wounds of race and slavery in the city\, We claim that we must shake off our moral fogginess and address the issue of racial change for our collective and better future. Change the name! \nTo submit written testimony\, send it via email to: AlanMTanner@gmail.com or the NewDemocracyCoalition@gmail.com. Include your name\, organizational affiliation if any\, and your contact information.

SUMMARY:Responding to a World in Crisis: 2026 MAPA Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at MAPA’s 2026 annual meeting! \nThe rogue actions of the Trump regime have culminated in a dizzying array of global upheavals.  As we face a challenge of historic proportions\, MAPA activists are redoubling our efforts across the Commonwealth\, reaching into growing movements and building a renewed commitment to peace. \nWe will begin the meeting hearing from Board members Evan McKay\, Tony Van Der Meer\, and Keith Harvey (pictured above) about the current crises created by our country’s aggressive foreign policy\, how this is affecting the domestic political environment\, and about MAPA’s work in both arenas. \nAfter a Q&A period\, we will review the organization’s finances\, consider and vote on proposed amendments to the MAPA bylaws\, and elect members to the Board of Directors. The last part of the meeting will be devoted to a small group discussion and activity designed to inspire\, build community\, and strengthen our resolve to meet the challenges ahead. \nAGENDA \n2:00pm: Registration Opens; Meet and Greet over heavy hors d’oeuvres\n2:30pm: Welcome\, Land Acknowledgement\, & Overview of Day\n2:35pm: Featured speakers\, board members Evan McKay\, Tony Van Der Meer\, and Keith Harvey followed by Q and A\n3:05pm: Board endorsements for the upcoming 2026 Congressional elections\n3:27pm: Business meeting\n4:02pm: Board Transitions and Election of New Board Members \n4:22pm: Small group discussion and activity focused on our theme Responding to a World in Crisis \nNominations to the Board of Directors \n \nProposed amendments to the MAPA bylaws\nThe Board of Directors have passed a resolution proposing changes to the bylaws pertaining to the Board size and the composition of the Executive Committee. After review\, members will vote whether to accept or reject the following changes: \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSection 3.03: Currently\, MAPA bylaws limit the Board size to at least three and no more than 25 Directors. The resolution proposes to maintain the minimum but grants the Board the power to determine the maximum number of Directors. \nSection 4.01: Extant bylaws grant the Board the power to\, “appoint not less than three or more than seven Directors or individuals of the MAPA Advisory Council who have served as MAPA Directors to comprise the Executive Committee.” The resolution proposes the Committee no longer be capped at seven and that MAPA staff be included among potential appointees. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMembers who wish to run for the board or nominate someone should contact the office no later than April 11\, 2026 at info@masspeaceaction.org or by phone\, 617-354-2169.  Five signatures of members are required for a nomination. \nNominees will meet with the Board Recruitment Committee to discuss the roles and responsibilities of a board member. All new board members will sign a board agreement outlining these responsibilities. \nMembers are welcome to attend without charge.  You can pay your dues as you register to ensure that you are a member in good standing. \nNot sure whether you are a member?  You can go to your Member Information Page:  https://masspeace.us/member-info\, enter your email address and click submit\, and receive a link to sign in.  If you’ve donated within the past year\, you are a member!   Or call the office at 617-354-2169 or write info@masspeaceaction.org \nThe meeting will be held in the Parish Hall of St. James Episcopal Church\, three blocks north of Porter Square in Cambridge. SUMMARY:Ukraine War: Its End-Game Could End Up in Nuclear War
DESCRIPTION:Our guest speaker is Prof. Peter Kuznick of American University\, founder of the Nuclear Studies Institute and longtime advocate for nuclear disarmament. He will discuss how the Ukraine War is the most likely international flashpoint that could lead to WWIII between the US/NATO and Russia\, which would probably mean a catastrophic nuclear war. \nNow in its fifth year\, Prof. Kuznick will discuss the growing possibility of a Ukrainian military defeat later this year after Russia mounts an anticipated major offensive this spring or summer. Russian forces not only could push Ukrainian troops entirely out of the eastern region of the Donbas\, but also continue advancing west to the Dnieper River\, effectively occupying half of Ukraine’s territory and threatening major cities like Kharkiv and Odessa. \nThe US/NATO might choose to help Ukraine avoid such a defeat by escalating and sending in EU troops; airpower to set up a no-fly-zone; long-range missiles like the Tomahawk that could reach deep into Russia’s heartland; and drone/missile attacks as they have done in the past two years on Russian strategic early-warning radar systems\, airbases with nuclear-capable bombers\, and even to assassinate Putin in one of his residences near Moscow. These are red lines that Russia has said could lead to the use of nuclear weapons. \nProf. Kuznick will also discuss the very dangerous mistake made by both Biden and Trump to let the START nuclear arms limitation treaty to expire on Feb. 5. To avoid a hugely expensive and even more destabilizing nuclear arms race\, Trump should accept Putin’s offer of a 1-year extension of START while negotiating a new and even more effective treaty. Trump should also save billions of U.S. tax dollars by stopping development of the Golden Dome missile defense program. \nHe will also discuss the greatly exaggerated threat of Russia attacking European countries after it conquers Ukraine. This fear of Russia is driving EU governments to increase military spending and prepare for a major war with Russia by 2030\, while slashing their budgets for human service and environmental priorities. \nPeter Kuznick is Professor of History and founder and Director of the Nuclear Studies Institute at American University. A longtime advocate for nuclear disarmament\, he has written extensively about science and politics\, nuclear history\, and Cold War culture. He is the author of Beyond the Laboratory: Scientists as Political Activists in 1930s America (2019); the co-author of Rethinking the Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with Akira Kimura; and Rethinking Cold War Culture (2010) with James Gilbert. He and Oliver Stone co-authored the 10 part Showtime documentary film series and book both titled The Untold History of the United States. You can follow Professor Kuznick on his substack: https://substack.com/@peterkuznick. \nRegister to attend: \n \nSponsored by Ukraine: A Time for Peace Campaign\, cosponsored by MAPA’s Nuclear Disarmament Working Group.

SUMMARY:¡Cuba Sî\, Bloqueo No! (a WIRN webinar)
DESCRIPTION:¡Cuba Sí\, Bloqueo No! (a WIRN webinar) \nOur next War Industry Resisters Network  webinar on Wednesday\, April 22\, 8 pm ET will be about Cuba\, featuring Medea Benjamin and Danny Valdes. Please see below for information. You can register here: \n \nThe US has been sanctioning the people of Cuba for well over 60 years now. The supplies\, valued at $433\,000\, were collected by Global Health Partners. \nThis webinar will address the nature of the US war on Cuba and the humanitarian efforts now happening on behalf of the Cuban people. It will be a call to action to stand with and speak out for our brothers and sisters in this beautiful neighboring nation. The presenters were organizers and participants for the recent delegation. \n \nPresenters: \nMedea Benjamin is a co-founder of CODEPINK and a prominent peace activist\, author\, and organizer focused on anti-war and human rights advocacy. \nDanny Valdes is a Cuban American organizer with Cuban Americans for Cuba and DSA leading national advocacy efforts to end the U.S. blockade and build solidarity.

SUMMARY:Earth's Greatest Enemy - A Film by Abby Martin
DESCRIPTION:Join your neighbors for this timely screening of “Earth’s Greatest Enemy” a new documentary film by Abby Martin\, that exposes the world’s biggest—and most unaccountable—polluter: the US military. https://earthsgreatestenemy.com/ \nExempt from international climate agreements and rarely scrutinized in mainstream reporting\, the Pentagon is the world’s single largest institutional polluter—spewing carbon\, contaminating water\, and scarring landscapes across the globe. Combining investigative journalism\, striking visuals\, and stories from impacted communities\, this film challenges audiences to rethink the hidden costs of a global military empire and its planetary consequences. Provocative\, urgent\, and eye-opening\, this is a documentary that will change how you see both the military and environmentalism. \n“Earth’s Greatest Enemy” reveals a hidden truth behind the climate crisis: the role of the U.S. military as the world’s largest institutional polluter\, tracing the link between war\, empire\, and ecological destruction. Drawing on powerful testimonies from veterans\, scientists\, and frontline communities\, it uncovers how military operations poison ecosystems\, accelerate global warming\, and sacrifice the future for endless expansion. From Alaska’s melting glaciers to contaminated bases across the U.S. and toxic battlefields abroad\, “Earth’s Greatest Enemy” delivers a provocative and unflinching examination of the untouchable institution playing an outsized role in the climate crisis. \n \nFree admission; donations are welcome!   Sign up today! \nVenue\nCalvary Church – Fellowship Hall*\n300 Massachusetts Ave\nArlington\, United States \nVenue is accessible \n*Fellowship Hall Entrance – side doors on Linwood Street up a set of exterior steps to red doors\n[alt. separate ground level entrance with elevator access to Hall on second floor] \nDoors open: 6:30 PM\nFilm starts: 7:00 PM\nRun time: 2 hrs\nPost Film Discussion until 9:30 PM\nLight refreshments provided \nSpecial thanks to Mass Peace Action’s Peace\, Justice and Climate working group and XR Boston for cosponsoring this film.\nThis event is being shown in conjunction with the Town of Arlington’s Ecofest.

SUMMARY:Volunteer callout: Tabling Action—End US-Israeli aggression (Iran\, Palestine\, Lebanon)
DESCRIPTION:Hi everyone\, we are going to table again this Saturday\, April 25 from noon to 1pm outside of Park Street Station. If you have questions please call 617-623-5288 \nOrganized by Paul Shannon\, MAPA Middle East Working Group \n  \n

SUMMARY:Organizing meeting to protest at Harvard Commencement
DESCRIPTION:A call for a solemn mass protest at the 2026 Harvard Commencement on May 28. \nIt is time to make both the genocide and raging ethnic cleansing of Palestine and our support for Palestinian self-determination visible once again. It’s time to pressure our educational\, medical\, cultural\, corporate and elected leaders who are collaborating with the genocide to end that support. \nThe biggest single event over the upcoming period that gives us the best chance to call much needed attention to this crisis is the Harvard Commencement on May 28. Harvard stands at the center of our universities’ strategy to help Israel and undermine opposition to Israeli criminal violence and dispossession of Palestinians. The commencement gives us the opportunity to reach the thousands and thousands of people coming to Harvard Square that day from all over the country and all over the world with our message and our demands. \nThis is a proposal for our third annual solemn vigil surrounding the outside walls of Harvard with our bodies\, signs and banners. Many of you participated in our commencement actions at the 2024 and 2025 commencements when 200 of us surrounded Harvard Yard with our solemn vigil in the morning as thousands started to pour through the gates. Our action received much support from those attending the festivities to whom we presented a powerful witness and provided important information about Harvard and the genocide. The press was swarming around the commencement and a number of us were interviewed and pictures were taken. We were part of the story those big commencement days in Cambridge. \nThere is a lot going on right now\, but not enough concerning Palestine. This is our opportunity to make a big deal out of what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank. \nWould you or your organization be willing to participate in the organizing committee for this Commencement action? The first organizing meeting will be held next Wednesday\, April 29 at 5:30pm at the Mass. Peace Action office in the St. James building complex at 1991 Massachusetts Ave\, north of Porter Square. Please sign up here or just show up next Wednesday. If you cannot attend\, but are interested in helping to organize this event\, please contact the Public Education and Action Team of Mass. Peace Action’s Gaza Committee at 617-623-5288 (landline\, no texts). Based on the response we will make a decision whether to proceed with putting together this year’s commencement protest. \nSign up if you can attend the organizing meeting or if you can help out to organize this effort. \nSee these directions to our office.

SUMMARY:Iran\, the United States\, and Why this War Matters
DESCRIPTION:Why is the US at war with Iran? \nDid Iranians come into existence in 1979 and start shouting “Death to America”?  \nIran is one of the most consistently demonized nations in U.S. discourse. U.S. officials\, and media\, frequently use obscene\, dehumanizing\, and misleading language with regards to Iran. \nThis consistent dehumanization helps manufacture consent for policies that have devastated the lives of ordinary Iranians in both Iran and the U.S. U.S. policy towards Iran over the past 47 years has consisted of economic warfare\, sabotage\, and overt and covert war\, with brief interludes of diplomacy. \nHowever\, the history of U.S.-Iran interactions is longer than that.   \nHow did we get here? What is the responsibility of those of us living in the U.S. towards ordinary Iranians and how does endless war affect us? \nWe will briefly review the history of U.S.-Iran relations in the context of the broader history of the Iranian struggle for sovereignty and attempt to address these questions. \nOur main presenter\, Bahar Sharafi\, is an Iranian-American activist\, born in Tehran with family there.   Now living in Dorchester\, she is a MAPA board member and co-chair of the MAPA-initiated Stop the US War on Iran committee.  Bahar is a volunteer leader with the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Iranian American Council\, and a co-founder of CD8 for Palestine. She spoke on the US-Iran war to 130\,000 people at the “No Kings III” rally on Boston Common\, March 30.  A second presenter will explain actions you can take and how to get involved. \nBahar is the narrator of the short film “A Glimpse of Iran“\, which shares sights\, sounds and reflections from her last trip to Iran\, and describes what it feels like to live in America while it wages an illegal war on her homeland.
