DESCRIPTION:Via Turn Purple 2 Blue:\n\nGreater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \nSchedule (Starting Thursday\, September 4 – more dates to follow) \n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements\n11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave\n12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \nWhat happens at this ICE office? \nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \nSigns \nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \nParking and other tips \nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. SUMMARY:Stop Trump’s Oil Blockade of Cuba
DESCRIPTION:Rally on Saturday\, February 14\nOutside Park Street Station\, Boston\n12 Noon to 1:15pm\nThis rally takes place during the worst crisis Cuba has ever faced as Trump is making sure no oil can reach Cuba. On January 29 he signed an executive order declaring a national emergency because of the alleged imminent threat that Cuba poses to our national security!! (The president seems to get a kick out of making up the most outrageous stories possible). In response to this “threat” he is placing significant tariffs on all goods from any country who dares to sell Cuba oil. \nOnce implemented this oil blockade means Cuba would be out of fuel by the end of this month. We will also raise our voices against even more draconian attacks on Cuba that could be coming soon. \nNow that Venezuelan oil is no longer available to Cuba\, we must support the efforts of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to find a way to sell some of its oil to the island nation. Cuba. As she says\, “The problem we have now is that the United States said it will impose tariffs on any country that sells to Cuba” \nGiven the energy shortages that already exist in Cuba and the hardship primarily caused by 6 decades of embargo\, such an oil blockade guarantees starvation and widespread loss of life in Cuba. Electricity\, hospitals\, agricultural machinery and transportation will no longer be able to function. The president’s strategy is clear: to provoke a level of misery so profound that it leads to civil unrest and the toppling of the Cuban Government. \nBut this blockade of Cuban oil does not take place in a vacuum. By now it is clear that president Trump will do whatever he wants to get his way. He will destroy people\, universities\, cultural institutions and countries to further his ambitions for power and personal wealth. He wages war abroad and war against our rights at home with the same playbook of division\, extortion\, deprivation\, and fear. The people of Minneapolis and the people of Cuba may have more in common than they know – united as they are by a common enemy and a common vision of human solidarity. \nCuba may be Trump’s enemy. But it is not ours. DESCRIPTION:A call for help tabling and petition gathering for Cuba this Saturday at noon at Park street station \nThis Saturday the international flotilla in solidarity with Cuba arrives for a big solidarity action in Havana. (They are delivering a significant amount of aid as well) Some of us are hoping to have an event in Boston in solidarity with those events in Cuba. Would you be available for a tabling/standout/leafleting event at Boston Common at noon. We hope to have at least a handful of people collecting signatures on our petition calling for an end to Trump’s oil blockade which has cast the island into darkness some or all of the time and is causing great harm to Cuba’s people. \nOf course there is so much going on. but some of us thought that a Cuba solidarity action at this time when Trump is determined to overthrow Cuba’s government is very much in order and when a big solidarity action is taking place in Cuba itself. DESCRIPTION:Via Turn Purple 2 Blue:\n\nGreater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \nSchedule (Starting Thursday\, September 4 – more dates to follow) \n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements\n11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave\n12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \nWhat happens at this ICE office? \nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \nSigns \nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \nParking and other tips \nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Before arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.)

SUMMARY:Will the Real Terrorist Please Stand Up
DESCRIPTION:Boats of armed Cuban Americans trying to land in Cuba like a little Bay of Piglets.  Trump cutting off all oil and threatening military action “I can do anything I want with the Island”.  Threatening countries in the Caribbean with who knows what if they use Cuba’s medical services.  And calling Cuba a terrorist and hostile country. Who’s the terrorist?\n\nThe inimitable Saul Landau with his partner Danny Glover\, take on the question in this 1 hour film:  Will the Real Terrorist Stand Up.  Then we will have a discussion — including a report back on the Nuestra America Convoy that just went to Cuba from 36 countries with some 500 people\, including 150 people from the US\, and several tons of medical aid delivered to hospitals and clinics.  Hope you can come.  And please take this action to tell Congress to pass this resolution forbidding Trump to take military action without consulting Congress.
