As the deadline for filing taxes approaches, Traprock’s Franklin County for Peace group invites all interested to a timely and informative rally on the militarization of the federal budget.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 11 am to noon on the Greenfield Common, near the corner of Main and Federal Streets in Greenfield.
Banners and signs, speakers and music will support cuts in the military budget to meet urgent needs. One sign, featured here, shows the gross inequity between the swollen military budget and programs vital for health, safety, education and more. (See more on the budget from Peace Action here.)
Speakers will include: War Tax Resisters; Aaron Falbel; Betsy Corner for Randy Kehler; Merri Ansara for MassPeaceAction; and Eric Wasileski, Veterans for Peace, with music from: Tom Neilson & Lynn Waldron; The Raging Grannies; Annie Hassett.
Sponsored by the Traprock Center.Co-sponsors: Franklin County Interfaith Council; Western Mass. Code Pink; Franklin County Continuing the Political Revolution; Mass Peace Action.
