Special Standout to End the Saudi-U.S. war in Yemen
Thu October 27, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm EDT
U.S. anger at Saudi Arabia opens the door to end U.S.-Saudi Collaboration in the war
Thursday, October 27 @ 5pm – 6pm
along Fresh Pond Parkway at the Fresh Pond Shopping Center in Cambridge
The rage in Congress against Saudi Arabia for deciding to cut oil production despite Biden’s pleas, opens up new possibilities for us to push through the Yemen War Powers Resolution. That resolution would pretty much terminate all U.S. involvement for the Saudi war in Yemen. Even before this flap over oil production limits about 130 members of Congress have signed on in support of the Resolution.
Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) has staked his reputation on winning the war in Yemen. Now that the ceasefire in Yemen has ended, anything can happen. The Yemen War Powers resolution is the best legislative option for ending U.S. support and rebuking MBS for his human rights violations and war crimes.
Congress is furious with MBS for not accommodating U.S. desires regarding OPEC’s oil policies. But, for the sake of the people of Yemen, we need to ride this Congressional anger to get the Saudi-U.S. assault on Yemen finally ended. The moment is opportune as the U.S. Saudi Alliance — which has caused so much disaster in the world — has never been under such a serious assault.
