Concerned community members throughout the Boston area will gather at the foot of the Gandhi statue to express their outrage over the horrible suffering in Yemen that is perpetuated by US Arms sales to Saudi Arabia.
For over 6 years a coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates has been devastating the poorest country in the Middle East, Yemen. They have made famine and disease weapons of war, striking fields, flocks, wells, water treatment plants, food production and distribution sites, weddings, funerals, hospitals, and schools. This is being done with US arms, many made by Raytheon Technologies, one of the largest weapons manufacturers in the world, headquartered right here in Massachusetts.
The Saudi-led coalition has also imposed a land, sea, and air blockade of Yemen, causing widespread starvation. It is estimated that a child dies from the effects of this war every 75 seconds.
Join us as we demand an end to the blockade and publicly express our support for non-military, non-violent solutions to conflict in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world.
