Julian Assange is an activist and publisher of Australian background, who founded the website WikiLeaks. WikiLeaks has exposed U.S. war crimes, for example, when it published leaks provided by U.S. Army analyst, Chelsea Manning. The U.S. is seaking to extradite Assange, charging him with violating the Espionage Act of 1917. While mainstream outlets like the NY Times and Washington Post have critized this move by the federal government, calling it an attack on the 1st Amendent, these same outlets have done a poor job of covering the Julian Assange case and the threats it poses to freedom of the press, and democracy.

Kevin Gosztola has focused on civil liberties, whistleblowers, and the security state. Join us on February 16, to take a deep dive into the case of Julian Assange, WikiLeaks, and government agencies attempting to imprison Assange and silence WikiLeaks. Here is an article Kevin recently wrote about the extridition trial of Julian Assange. Register for our webinar now!
