Hiroshima-Nagasaki Commemoration and Performance: Brookline

Sat August 6 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm EDT

Brookline Hiroshima-Nagasaki event

A music and vocal commemoration of the atomic bombings of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki 77 years ago, to be followed by a concert style presentation of the world acclaimed play, The Face of Jizo, by Hisashi Inoue.

This year’s theme is “Wind and Wings” which signifies the interaction of Love and Freedom, of which the Peace is its byproduct. The featured performance is a play titled “The Face of Jizo” by Hisashi Inouye. We made our own “concert version” of this play. Also featured is the original composition by Yoko Nakatani, a Boston-local Japanese musician, and will be performed by Atsuko Jozaki, pianist.
