Hiroshima 76th Anniversary Commemoration

Sat August 7, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

Come for a minute or an hour to express your opposition to nuclear weapons, including by asking the US government to sign the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Sing, sign petitions, and let our government know that nuclear weapons never protect us–they threaten us! Banners and signs are welcome.

This event has been held yearly for some time with the theme Hiroshima-Nagasaki Never Again. New banners referring to the TPNW will be used to focus attention on the nuclear prohibition theme.
Your presence at any of this year’s RI events (also here and here) would be greatly appreciated and would be a worthy homage both to the hundreds of thousands of human beings who died horribly because of the August 6 and 9 bombings in 1945 and also to the many organizations which, along with the International Committee on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), worked to achieve the passage of the treaty and its ratifications to date

Hiroshima & Nagasaki: Never again.
