POSTPONED!

See another Cuba standout on January 29, Hadley

We urge all to attend the rally for Arif Sayed Faisal organized by the Bangladesh Association of New England at Somerville High School, 81 Highland Ave, and then march to a vigil at the Mystic River Mural Project, near 530 Mystic Avenue, Somerville,  The rally starts at 1 pm, the vigil at 2 pm.

Arif Sayed Faisal, a graduate of Somerville High School, was killed by Cambridge police in a backyard shooting incident when police were called for assistance as Arif  Sayed Faisal, in a mental health crisis, threatened to harm himself with a knife.  He was also part of the Mystic River Mural Project, an ongoing 22 year mural project involving local students from many international backgrounds.

The Boston area Cuba Standout will resume next month, February 26,  at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

The Western Massachusetts standout, Sunday January 29th, at the Hampshire Mall Hadley will go ahead as planned.

Call for an End the U.S. Embargo & Blockade of Cuba.

Demand that the US Lift the 243 Punitive Sanctions on Cuba.

Take Cuba off the list of so-called State Sponsors of Terrorism.

Cuba is our Friend

These punitive measures harm the people of Cuba and prevent normal relations and exchange between the Cuban and US people.  The measures are outmoded and counterproductive, contributing to shortages of food, medicine and equipment in Cuba, blocking sources of fuel and energy to the Island,  cutting off the Island from credit and normal financial transactions.  We call for normal relations with Cuba and engagement and dialogue, not punishment.  It is unfair, and unjust, it is not who we are as a people.

LET’S CALL OUT TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE:

TAKE CUBA OFF THE SO-CALLED TERRORISTS LIST. END THE EMBARGO

We will be at the Somerville Library, 79 Highland Ave, 1:30 to 2:00, adjourning into the Library for the May Day Brigade educational & fundraising event that goes from 2 to 4.  The shorter time is suggested as it is likely to be freezing, and also inside the library people will have access to the brochures and we can ask people to take the actions on the spot.

Cuba is Our Friend and Not our Enemy. Let Cuba Live!

Yes, I'll Be ThereRSVP:  Yes! I’ll be there!
