Saturday August 5 at 11 am-12 noon, corner of King/Pleasant and Main Streets, Northampton, MA:
There will be a street action during the pedestrian crossing signal times to represent the estimated more than 72,000 people dead and another 72,000 injured as a result of the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. Banners will describe the action, and tables will be set up on street corners, each with a nuclear map, postcards, and handouts on legislative actions to eliminate nuclear weapons now before they are used again.
We encourage one and all to join us with banners and instruments. If interested in being involved with the action, meet on Old Courthouse lawn at 10:30 am.
Sponsored by the Nuclear Free Future Coalition of western Massachusetts, the local chapter of Physicians For Social Responsibility, Code Pink, and other peace organizations of western Massachusetts.
