CD8 Summit for Palestine

We are a group of organizers active in Massachusetts Congressional District 8 and beyond. Over the past 14 months, many of us have been organizing alongside different Palestine solidarity organizations, within or beyond the district, to end the US-backed genocide in Palestine. We want to bring together representatives from diverse groups active in the district, to build power through connected engagement. We aim to facilitate collaboration in the following areas:

• Increasing pressure against Representative Lynch, Senator Warren, and Senator Markey with regards to Palestine (ceasefire, arms embargo, reject AIPAC, UNRWA)
• Driving out weapons manufacturers from District 8
• Making Palestinian liberation a litmus test for all candidates running to represent areas including CD8 at all levels; Palestinian liberation cannot be optional for progressive politics
• Divestment of CD8 institutions from companies that profit from Israeli military action
• Consider whether to recruit primary challengers for Representative Lynch (CD8)
• Municipal resolutions

We envision initiating or increasing collaborations in the following tactics: policy advocacy, direct action, visibility, political education, and deep canvassing.

The goal of the summit is to (1) identify topics, strategies, and tactics that we can work together on to carry out joint actions, (2) identify areas where we might not carry out joint actions but can support and amplify each other’s actions, (3) implement measures that will facilitate joint actions and support. To achieve these goals we propose the following steps:

• Confirming designated liaisons from each organization
• Establishing communication channels
• Forming committees to work on agreements for shared goals and support areas
• Mapping each organization’s priority activities
• Agreeing on shared goals and identifying a number of shared future actions
