Boston Vigil: Pandemic Year Three

Event: As part of an International Day of Action on the second anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, Boston activists are holding a vigil and rally to remember and honor those we have lost to COVID-19 and all those still suffering because of the ongoing pandemic. Members of Justice is Global, Massachusetts Peace Action, and other organizations will gather to demand public health policies that put people over profit and put a stop to preventable deaths.

Read more about the event here.

Why: As our politicians declare “back to normal,” immunocompromised people are being abandoned and left behind, and billions of people worldwide still don’t have access to COVID vaccines and treatments.

The lack of government action in the face of pharmaceutical monopoly greed is causing thousands of needless deaths each day. Even as Omicron starts to wane, ongoing vaccine inequity threatens to spark new COVID variants that could once again prolong the pandemic for everyone. We must come together, with all our grief and outrage and hope, to demand public health policies that put people over profit and put a stop to preventable deaths.

This event is part of an International Day of Action organized by the Global People’s Vaccine Alliance. It will complement several being held around the world in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and southern and southeast Asia.
