Vigil: No Military Intervention in Iraq

June 18, 2014 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

As the situation in Iraq deteriorates, the “Never Learn” caucus is demanding US military intervention in the form of ground troops, air strikes, Special Operations and weapons deliveries. The unfolding tragedy in Iraq is a direct consequence of the illegal American invasion and occupation of that country. The least helpful idea is for the United States to involve itself militarily in Iraq or Syria. US military intervention, whether directly or by providing arms, will increase the suffering of people in…

Rally: Stop US bombing in Iraq/Syria and Bring Troops Home.

June 30, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 7:15 pm

President Obama recently announced that he is sending 450 more U.S. troops to Iraq. These new troops join 3,050 troops already in Iraq and a number of U.S. warships. They are setting up a U.S. military base on Iraqi soil. We have been bombing Iraq since 1991 with a new escalation last August. These actions are called war. Further escalations no doubt lie just down the road. The US has spent trillions and killed hundreds of thousands, including more than 4,500 US…

Emergency Rally to end U.S. arms sales to Saudi Arabia

November 14, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Trump boasts of arms sales to Saudis - with crown prince Mohammed bin Salman

The past weeks have seen a dramatic shift in mainstream attitudes toward our relationship with Saudi Arabia. The grisly killing of Jamal Khashoggi is reverberating throughout power circles in the U.S. and has shaken the very basis of a consensus around the U.S.-Saudi alliance. For the first time U.S. weapons sales, particularly by Raytheon, are being seriously questioned as the rage around Khashoggi has opened the door to unprecedented questioning of the U.S.-Saudi war in Yemen. Now is the time for…

Remember the Kids in Yemen – Silent Vigil

December 16, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Children of Yemen cowering in fear at bombing

As the devastating Yemen war approaches its 5th anniversary, Congressional negotiators failed to include provisions to end U.S. arms sales to Saudi in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which passed the House last Thursday by a vote of 377-48.  So, the war continues. Join us at a silent vigil.  The signs we hold will be staggered with every other sign holder holding a sign that says “This Christmas Remember the Kids in Yemen”. The sign holder standing next to…

No War with Iran: Rally and Candlelight March

January 9 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us on Thursday, January 9th, at 4:30 pm. We will gather outside the Harvard Sq. MBTA Station and march the short distance to the Cambridge Common at 5 pm for talks. Our demands are clear: No War with Iran and U.S. troops out of the Middle East! Bring signs, banners, electronic candles/flashlights.
