“Praying For Peace” was written by Nigerian-born, Berklee College of Music student, Kayode Ajayi (Kayo Musiq). The song is inspired by current turmoil in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, and unrest throughout the world.
Kayo wrote: “I have seen a lot of countries go through hardship and war. I have seen how music helped them find common grounds. I just recorded a Praying for peace music project for the word with about 50 other students involved from different countries to sing for peace in the world. Music has successfully stood out as an accurate representation of sentiments toward significant historical events, political opinions, and societal observations. I believe that music will continue to have influence over society and serve as a creative commentary for generations to come. That was what inspired this song.”
