True cost of the Military Industrial Complex: Connections between the Military, Climate Change, and the Corona Crisis
April 13 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Featuring a 10-minute video produced by Brilliant.org circulated through the Global Campaign for Peace Education
This video discusses the true costs of the military-industrial-complex, particularly the impact of militarism on the environment. It points out the interrelationships between war, militarism, human needs, and ecological security.
The video will be followed by facilitated discussion about what MAPA can do to transform our security paradigm and budget priorities from military spending to meeting human needs, and the role of the Green New Deal in this context.
Initial comments by Rosalie Anders, Paul Shannon, and Paula Gutlove. Sponsored by Massachusetts Peace Action’s Peace and Climate Working Group
