RFK Walk to Remember: Bobby Kennedy 50 Years Later

June 6, 2018 @ 11:00 am

Chris Matthew's Book, BOBBY KENNEDY - A Raging Spirit. Chris Matthews book cover
Join the Peace Abbey at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 6, for the RFK WALK to REMEMBER on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Robert Francis Kennedy.  Bobby Kennedy, along with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., evolved to become a compelling voice for peace during the anti-war movement of the sixties.  For many, his 1968 presidential candidacy and impassioned voice of conscience marked the beginning of a half-century-long commitment to peace, social justice and political activism.

The Walk will begin at 83 Beals Street, Brookline, MA, the birthplace of President John F, Kennedy, continue to the Corner of Abbotsford and Naples where RFK was born, then proceed down Beacon Street and conclude at the Statehouse. The length of the walk is 3 miles, arriving at the Statehouse around 12:30 for a short closing ceremony.

RFK speeches will be broadcast along the way, memories and stories shared, and hearts reconciled.
