People Over Pipelines March
July 14, 2016 - July 18, 2016Free
From July 14-18th, hundreds of Massachusetts residents will march the route of Spectra’s proposed pipeline projects all the way to the Massachusetts State House. Together, we’ll show Governor Baker and state legislators that if they don’t take leadership on stopping new gas pipelines, the people will!
The reality of the climate crisis has never been clearer. 2015 was the hottest year on record, and 2016 is set to break that record anew. But as the planet heats up, so does our movement.
A group of Massachusetts Peace Action members will march together on Sunday, July 17, during the final miles of the march through downtown Boston to the State House. Meet at 1:15 pm on July 17 at Ruggles Station, or at 4:15 pm at the State House steps for a rally. More information – Sign up here
All over the globe, people are taking bold action and putting their bodies on the line for climate justice. This summer, we’ll be among them. We’ll deepen our relationships to one another, and the movement. We’ll build the skills we need to keep fighting. And we’ll send a clear message to our elected officials that the people of Massachusetts are ready to do whatever’s necessary to stop new fossil fuel infrastructure. If our leaders don’t step up to stop new gas pipelines, the people will.
Join us for all of it, join us for some of it, or support it. This will be a march to remember!
