One year ago this month, a group of 50 people met in Westport to discuss how to continue the political revolution that Bernie started with his run for President. Senator Sanders launched Our Revolution shortly thereafter and the group collectively decided to follow the senator’s lead. Since that time, a temporary state body, the Interim Coordinating Committee (ICC), was charged with laying the foundation and infrastructure to be formally recognized as an Our Revolution state affiliate. Massachusetts is now one of only four states in the country with this status (the other state affiliates are Wisconsin, Texas and Maryland). Last spring, the ICC assigned a subcommittee the task of developing a structure for our new organization to lead ORMA’s future.
After many months, and a lot of time and dedication from volunteers from all over the state, ORMA is finally ready to transition to new leadership.
On November 12th you are invited to participate in the transition from the Interim Coordinating Committee leadership to a democratically elected State-wide body. The ORMA Transition Team will present the process for elections for our leadership and lay the groundwork for our convention in January. All ORMA members (anyone who has attended an event or made a donation) are invited to attend as voting participants, and members of ally organizations are invited to attend as non-voting participants.
Please help us to plan better for this event by pre-registering and completing the information in this google form.
Within the google form is a link where you can make a donation. We do not have any national funding for this event. Food, child care, and the venue space will be provided, but we are asking for a minimum $10 donation from every attendee who has the financial ability to pay. You will NOT be turned away for lack of a contribution, it’s more important that you attend.
The venue is a 15 minute walk from the North Quincy MBTA station on the Braintree line. See a Google Map
