Rally Wed. in Northampton: No Famine in Yemen!
November 27 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am
Half of Yemen’s population is on the brink of famine after five years of U.S.-backed intervention. The blockade of major ports stop humanitarian assistance and imports from entering the country, and multiple checkpoints throughout the region have driven up prices of any food, fuel, and water that is able to enter. U.S.-made bombs are being dropped on farms and families. And a child dies of preventable causes every 10 minutes in Yemen.
Congress, however, has a chance to end U.S. participation in the war, pulling support from the Saudi/UAE-led coalition by halting weapon sales and logistical support. The day before Thanksgiving, join us in sending this important message to Rep. McGovern, chairman of the powerful House Rules Committee.
President Trump is in Violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. We ask that Chairman McGovern:
1. Call for Impeachment for Violating the Constitution.
2. Sue the President for Violating the Constitution.
3. Insist that Congress, via the Annual National Defense Authorization Act, Immediately Ends ALL U.S. Participation in the War in Yemen that Congress Never Authorized.
Thank you to CODEPINK, Just Foreign Policy, Progressive Democrats of America, Progressive Democrats of America Massachusetts, and the Resistance Center, for co-hosting this rally. And to the Mt. Toby Friends Meeting (Quakers) for sharing info about this rally with its members.
