Let Cuba Live: Report Back and BBQ
Sun October 16 @ 2:00 pm EDT
Local activists from the Anti-Imperalist Action Committee joined organizers from across the U.S. for the International Peoples’ Assembly’s May Day brigade to Cuba. The delegation met with Cuban doctors, unions and workers, students, community organizers, and government officials to learn about Cuba’s current reality.
How has Cuba survived U.S. aggression for over 60 years? What are the successes of the Cuban Revolution? How does the blockade impact daily life in Cuba? Why doesn’t the U.S. media report on things like Cuba’s world-renowned healthcare system?
Join those activists from the delegation for a presentation, food and beverages in the Dwight Street Community Garden to learn more about the impacts of the blockade and the reality in Cuba. Together we will discuss how we can work with comrades beyond our borders to strengthen our movements in the US and abroad!
Sponsored by the Anti-Imperialist Action Committee, Neighbor to Neighbor Massachusetts, Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research, Demilitarize Western Mass, Massachusetts Peace Action, and more!
**Accessibility info: There are no bathrooms at the Dwight Street Community Garden. There are bathrooms nearby in walking distance. Rides will be provided as well.**
