Introduction to Israel/Palestine: 5 week course

Wed October 16, 2013 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Does supporting peace in Israel/Palestine feel a little “too complicated?” Familiarity with the politics and history of the region and its people can help us work for justice in the Middle East in an informed and fulfilling way.
Jewish Voice for Peace Boston‘s education working group has spent months developing a curriculum intended to prepare people of all ages for Israel/Palestine activism. JVP leaders Tali Ruskin and Zoe Pepper-Cunningham will facilitate five interactive, multimedia workshops designed to invite discussion and questioning.  Some sessions might include pre-readings of under 20 pages.
Schedule (6:30-8:30 PM):
Oct 16th: The State of Israel’s Founding in 1948
Oct 23rd: Contemporary Occupation
Oct 30th: The U.S. Role
Nov 6th: The Role of Judaism, Zionism, and Anti Semitism in Israel/Palestine
Nov 13th: Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions, and Resistance
Each session will take place on a Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 PM, with an optional snacking period afterward.  We require that each participant commit to attending all workshops.
Register here!  The course is FREE. You will hear back from us within one week to confirm.  We are limited to 15 spots, so register soon!
