Hiroshima and Nagasaki Remembrance

August 6, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The legacy of nuclear weapons, how much it’s costing you, and how you can end the threat

Join us for our annual Hiroshima and Nagasaki Remembrance. We will hear readers read the poetry and testimony of survivors of these bombings; the cost of “nuclear modernization” and how it impacts your wallet today; and from the inimitable Ann Wright!

Ann is a retired Army colonel, diplomat, and international peace activist, and she will share her experience in peace-building from around the world, including her recent trips to Japan and Europe. Ann is currently raising money for the Women’s Boat(s) to Gaza.

Our event will be closed by the monks and walkers of the New England Peace Pagoda, who will be on a walk to spread the word of the dangers of nuclear weapons.

This event is (as usual) free to all and accessible!

* We will likely not be having our floating lantern ceremony, due to the drought affecting the water level of Paradise Pond.
