Harvard Heat Week
April 22 @ 12:00 am - April 26 @ 12:00 am
In 2015, Divest Harvard staged the first Harvard Heat Week as part of a nation-wide student mobilization effort calling for fossil fuel divestment and climate justice. Now, in 2019, we are re-staging Harvard Heat Week to build up the public pressure for Harvard and its peer institutions to realize their responsibilities to us, the students, and to our larger global community to end their endowment holdings in the industry at the heart of the climate crisis.
Join us from April 22nd-26th for a week of climate action and education to amplify the call for divestment by Earth Week of 2020! Recent weather extremes, along with the latest IPCC report and national climate assessment, have made it clear that there’s no time to wait in combating climate change. It’s time to #DivestHarvard.
*NATIONAL CALL TO ACTION (Flood Harvard): On Friday, April 26th, we are calling on our peers and allies around the country to join us in physically flooding Harvard’s campus to demand the divestment of the endowment from the fossil fuel industry by Earth Day of 2020. For more information on the action and how you/your organization can get involved, email us at email@example.com!
