EyeWitness Gaza: Keeping Hope Alive
May 20, 2016 @ 7:00 pm
Nancy Murray, who was for 25 years Director of Education at the ACLU of Massachusetts, recently returned from the Gaza Strip, which the UN has said will be “unlivable” within four years. Dr. Murray first visited Gaza in 1988 and co-founded the Gaza Mental Health Foundation in 2001, she will describe the conditions she encountered this April and how people under siege are seeking to rebuild their lives. What responsibility do Americans share for what is happening to the people of Gaza? And what can we do to help keep people safe and keep hope alive?Reports and rumors abound about what is happening in Gaza; it’s hard to know who and what to believe. Few people outside of Gaza have the experience and knowledge and wisdom to address these questions as accurately as Nancy Murray.
