Budget for All Strategy Meeting
May 3, 2015 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Don’t miss it! We need your input
You are invited to the annual strategy meeting of the Budget for All Coalition
Sunday, May 3 3pm
Now that we have had our big Tax day event, it’s time for all of us to plan out our activities for this coming crucial year as the Federal Budget Debate intensifies.
Please join us at First Church Cambridge at 11 Garden Street out of Harvard square to consider how to best
1. prevent both the cuts to vital programs like Medicare and food stamps and the big increases in the Pentagon budget presently featured in congressional budget proposals.
2. Give visibility and teeth to the demands of voters across the state for a “Budget for All” that is the basis of a society in which there is a place for everyone. End corporate tax breaks and cut the military budget to provide the funding needed for green jobs, renewable energy development and vital public programs like housing, medical research, food stamps, public transit, education and health care – all presently on the chopping block in DC.
Since all of our groups are going to be impacted by Federal budget decisions, how can we continue to build the Budget for all campaign into a place in Massachusetts where numerous social change, labor, peace and climate groups connect up with each other around a shared agenda?
We have already begun the process of establishing an ongoing relationship with the Congressional Progressive Caucus as they develop their “Peoples Budget” for next year.
We need your ideas, so please join us on May 3 to build on our accomplishments so far and figure out best where we go from here.
