Senator John KerryThree years after the onset of the Great Recession, Washington is focused on cutting deficits instead of on creating jobs. Senator John Kerry is one of 12 members of a Super Committee charged with cutting $1.5 trillion from the deficit. Will he stand firm?

We will rally at Sen. Kerry’s house to present demands on behalf of the vast majority of Massachusetts residents:

• Create jobs and get people back to work
• Restore fairness to the tax system
• Hands off Social Security and health benefits
• End the wars, bring the troops home and cut military spending

Kerry’s house, or meet us at 19 Louisburg Square at 5:30 p.m. We will display a giant postcard to Sen. Kerry, sing songs, use visual aids to dramatize the effect of the planned cutbacks, and deliver appeals from Massachusetts residents.

An Appeal to the Massachusetts congressional delegation September 11th, 2011

John KerrySenator John Kerry is a member of Congress’ “Super Committee”, which is tasked with proposing by November 23 how to cut the 10-year Federal deficit by $1.5 trillion.  People who have talked with Kerry fear that he will cut Social Security, healthcare, and other programs we need. We must act now to keep him from doing that.

Kerry has set up a meeting this week to get input from Massachusetts Members of Congress.

Call your Representative’s office at (202) 224-3121 on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of this week. Or send your Representative an email using our online form. Ask him or her to tell Kerry: stand firm against cuts in Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid  and insist on real solutions instead. (To find out who your representative is, fill in your zip code at http://www.house.gov/.)
