Supplemental Passes – but with more against it July 29th, 2010

After a trip to the Senate where much of the domestic spending was stripped, the House passed the Afghan Supplemental on July 27, 2010.  More Democrats and Republicans voted against it  this time,  showing increased  opposition to the war.  All MA Congressmen, except for  Lynch,  voted against funding the war.  Read more in Boston Globe

New START Treaty Vote Date July 29th, 2010

Senator Kerry, who is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, put the New START treaty on his panel’s schedule for next week. The vote is still very uncertain!! Call your senators, especially Scott Brown to encourage them to vote for START!

Wikileaks July 27th, 2010

See the Wikileaks Afghanistan news just in time for votes on Supplemental funding. Wikileaks writes, “The Afghan War Diary is the most significant archive about the reality of war to have ever been released during the course of a war. The deaths of tens of thousands is normally only a statistic but the archive reveals the locations and the key events behind each most of these deaths. We hope its release will lead to a comprehensive understanding of the war in Afghanistan and provide the raw ingredients necessary to change its course.”
